Program Description:
The Public Health Assessment Training (PHAT) online modules are designed to increase knowledge and change competency of environmental health practices and strategies. The content of the modules is derived from the method used by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), which is known as the public health assessment (PHA), to evaluate exposure to hazardous substances.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of Module 5: Selection of Sampling Data, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define what sampling data are appropriate.
  2. Identify factors that affect data quality.
  3. Select the sampling data that are appropriate for use in the PHA.
  4. Define what a data gap is and how to address it.
  5. Determine if the sampling data for the Gala Lumber Company site are appropriate.
