Program Description:
“Module 3: Site Information and Data Gathering” explains the importance and the steps to efficiently gather relevant information for the public health assessment (PHA) process. It also lists data needed to conduct the PHA and potential data sources. Module 3 discusses measures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the community. Lastly, Module 3 introduces learners to the “Gala Lumber Company” environmental case study that students will be using to apply concepts discussed throughout the course.

Objectives:
After completing “Module 3: Site Information and Data Gathering”, learners will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of obtaining relevant information for the Public Health Assessment (PHA).
  2. List steps to gather site information.
  3. Identify facts about the Gala Lumber Company (GLC) Site (a case study).
  4. List types of data needed to conduct the public health assessment (PHA).
  5. Identify common sources of data for the public health assessment (PHA).
  6. Discuss measures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the community.
