What to know
Chapter 2 covers nine principles of community engagement that are grounded in literature presented in Chapter 1. The nine principles are organized in three sections; each principle covers a broad practice area of engagement, often addressing multiple issues.
Chapter Overview
Chapter 1 presented an overview of key frameworks, concepts, and models for community engagement. Chapter 2 builds on the previous chapter by establishing nine guiding principles of community engagement. These principles are informed by the literature, in-the-field experiences, and by communities.
The nine principles of community engagement serve as a tool for all who engage and work with communities.
